How to write a business profile people reply to
On any networking platform, your profile does the introducing before you do. Here is how to write one that the right people recognise themselves in.

The short answer
Say plainly what your business sells and who it is for, then say exactly what you are looking for right now, such as a supplier, a partner or a first client in a named sector. Specific beats impressive: a precise need is easier for the right person to answer than a list of credentials.
Start with what you sell, in plain words
Write it the way you would explain it to a customer, not an investor. "We install commercial kitchens for restaurants in the North West" tells the reader more than "end to end hospitality infrastructure solutions".
Say who it is for
Name the customers you serve best: their industry, size and where they are. The people who fit will recognise themselves, and the people who do not will save you both time.
Say what you need right now
This is the part most profiles leave out, and it is the most useful. Be specific: a co-founder who sells, a packaging supplier for small runs, introductions to facilities managers, an advisor who has raised a first round.
On GrowthSync this matters more than anything else on the page. The heaviest part of the match score is whether what you offer matches what another member is looking for, checked in both directions, and a vague overlap deliberately scores close to nothing. A precise need is what puts you in front of the right people.
Add your stage and where you work
Your business stage and markets help people at a similar point find you, and your location matters for anything in person. Keep them current.
What to leave out
- Buzzwords that could describe any business.
- Claims you cannot back up. One real result beats three vague ones.
- A long list of everything you could possibly do. Lead with what you most want to be chosen for.
Check it the way others see it
Read your profile as a stranger would. GrowthSync has a preview that shows your profile exactly as another member sees it. Then update what you are looking for whenever it changes; an out of date need is worse than none.
Common questions
What should a business networking profile include?
What your business sells and who it is for, what you are looking for right now, your stage and where you work, and a clear photo. Specific beats impressive.
Why does what I am looking for matter so much on GrowthSync?
Because the heaviest part of the match score is whether what one member offers matches what another is looking for, in both directions. A precise need puts you in front of the right people.
Does GrowthSync write my profile for me?
No. GrowthSync has no AI features. You write your profile, and the preview shows you how it looks to other members.
